WIN. The Detroit Tigers handedly defeated the New York Yankees Thursday night to complete their 4-0 sweep of the 2012 American League Championship Series. Detroit won its 11th American League pennant and first since 2006. The Tigers have five days off before they face either the St. Louis Cardinals or the San Francisco Giants in the World Series.
